Getting your boat set up right is a very personal thing! This BFG originally came out with built-in seat boxes glassed to the floor, this boat had already been modified with a short pedestal mounted to a plywood base crudely fixed to the top of the old seat base. The new owner of this boat was not happy with this set-up and the old box frames were in the way and taking up valuable floor space. So we cut these out and glassed in a couple of structural reinforcement bases for the new seat pedestals. To tidy everything up we filled and faired the outline of the old boxes on the floor and then sanded and primed the entire floor. After neatly masking the perimeter of the floor this was painted in a 2 pack nonslip finish with Awlgrip nonski grit. The original seats were still useable so these were mounted to the new pedestals. The owner also asked us to repair a crack in the deck beam below the foredeck, add new hull drain fittings and a couple of other small jobs.
