This Malibu Response wake-board boat had some gelcoat damage on the underside of the hull. To do this properly the boat was lifted off its trailer onto work stands. First the underside repairs were done and then it was returned to its trailer where we detailed and polished the topsides. With all the work done […]
This 6m Cruise Craft was in like-new condition however the keel forefoot had caught on something and created some nasty damage. A strip about a meter long had been flattened off requiring glassing to build back up. We suggested a ‘Keel-guard’ strip be applied over this area to protect this area from future damage. Although […]
The wrong propeller caused pitting in the gelcoat above the rudder!! It’s quite amazing what water pressure can do to a fiberglass hull when harmonics are concerned. In this case the wrong prop was fitted to this Spy ski boat which ate into the glass in two distinct areas. To repair these areas, the hollows […]
A quick side job with this deck hatch that had rotted plywood reinforcement strips around the edge. We removed the affected material and replaced it. It was then glassed over with epoxy to seal the material in. Externally we re-finished the gelcoat which was badly weathered.
This late model Haines suffered some gelcoat damage on the keel line. Part of this damage ripped into the ‘Keel Guard’ strip that was fitted along the keel so needed to be replaced. Not being familiar with the ‘Keel Guard’ brand we found this product to be excellent. It comes in a well organized little […]
The owner of this Sundance 5m boat wanted it converted to a centre console configuration. It sounds easy enough however there’s a bit in it! Firstly cutting the deck back to desired shape and size, continuing the moulded profile through without any deflection and then building the structure back up in the original style. We […]
Part of our commercial fiberglass work includes jobs like this. Repairs to this ute canopy door from accidental damage causing cracking involved fiberglassing the damaged areas, filling, fairing and re-finishing in polyurethane. The inside of the door was re-flowcoated to match and the paint repairs polished in. The fiberglass work was quite detailed and intricate […]
Essential Energy requested some fiberglass work on a couple of their crane buckets. These are regularly checked and must be repaired to maintain the insulation of the bucket to protect the operators. This involved glassing the repairs and then gel coating the new work as well as any chips etc for insulation protection.
