We replaced the transom on this Cruise Craft which according to the tap test only had one soft area. As it turned out someone poured resin through one of the scuppers to attempt to repair the rotted transom causing it to sound solid. Once cut open it was clear that the transom was totally rotten and well overdue for replacement. We also discovered a large crack near the step-through access into the boat. This was a fault in the original laminating of the hull exposing a large air pocket. We also repaired some stress cracking on the opposite side of the step-through. As per our usual process, all bonding, laminating and fairing was carried out using West System epoxy. The transom and other repairs were painted in colour matched 2 pack.
