Some may remember this boat being in for some other work a few months ago. We built a custom engine well and bait tank design in the back area which had been left unfinished after the original mods were done. The owner has done the painting on this boat since then and asked us to fit the new fuel tank, floorboards and centre console. The new alloy tank had the required clearance however it had no mounting system. So first we made up some bottom composite tank supports for the tank to sit on and then designed and built the floorboards above the tank with the top tank supports incorporated into the floorboards. So once the floorboards were screwed into position this held the tank securely in place. We also added a reinforcement pad below the floorboard for a helm seat to fix to. The final piece of the puzzle was the fitting of the console which was done using heavy duty split hinges at the front and over centre catches for the back. This neat solution worked treat and allowed for lifting the console if required in the future.
