We mentioned that we had two almost identical Haines 600R’s in our shop, this one needed a new floor. We were lucky enough to have the owner do most of the removal of the old floor and grinding for us so the turnaround time was cut right down. We fitted the seat pads below the floor first and then installed the new composite floor. He also asked for a new centre floorboard with built-in supports rather than the treacherous Z-angle Aluminium strips that are standard. These cause a lot of damage because the screws loosen up and let water into the floor and sometimes the main stringers. We also fitted a new stainless deck plate for him to access the fuel tank for dipping. Once all re-carpeted this boat looked the part again!
