This customer came to us wanting to tidy up the exterior of his Haines but we noticed that the internal structure was not looking too good. He quickly changed the scope of work to the structural parts firstly as this was far more important. Once we removed the fuel tank and stripped the boat we discovered that the structure was worse than first expected. This was to the point of  ‘strip out and redo’ which is what the owner decided to do. We replaced all the hull structure with composite and epoxy including the forward cabin area. Where the fuel tank sat proud and above the deck originally we recessed a section each side in the new deck so that the tank was level with the floor. Instead of old blue carpet the owner asked for all new painted surfaces so we also painted the top of the tank. All foot traffic areas were painted in a nonslip finish. With all the original fittings re installed the boat was once again ready to roll!
