Certainly worth the effort, this Haines Signature was recently purchased but had been let a go a little and in need of some TLC. With good bones, all that was needed was mostly cosmetic things. The list started with a general health check, repairs to damaged area below the VHF antenna base, this ended up being replaced, various gelcoat repairs, new upholstery to back seat and side pockets, new floorboard which was rotted and epoxy coated both boards, new chrome rod holders to replace cheap plastic ones, new LED side nav lights, new carpet and re-mounting of the seats. The entire boat got a good detail with acid wash, detailing of gelcoat, polish and wax protection. The gelcoat was still in reasonable condition so the gloss came up really well once done however here’s a good lesson to anyone listening, don’t cut metal on the boat even stainless, this boat had fillings rusted into the gelcoat which was very difficult to remove. Because the owner was a shift worker and couldn’t get in to pick the boat up, we dropped the boat off for him as he lived just around the corner. Once he had gone right over the boat he came back with some feedback:
“Hello to Marina & Craig, Many thanks for the professional way the repairs to my Signature 520C were performed, the whole job was so well organised and I really liked the way i was kept up to date with progress. However the most impressive result was the standard of workmanship carried out on my boat, thank you Craig, super job mate. Thank you so much, Col Bowden”
