A Medowie customer was our first ‘walk-in’ at our new factory. The request was to replace the floor and some gelcoat repairs. Unfortunately once the floor was removed the hull stringers and bulkheads were all rotted. This was quite surprising for a fairly recent model Haines. So we set about re-building the hull. Part of this job was to allow for a future under-floor fuel tank situated centrally below the floor with a secured floor board above. Because the hull was largely gutted, we needed to prop the hull carefully to hold its shape before fitting the new internals. All work carried out on this boat was done using epoxy for bonding and glassing with all surfaces sealed with epoxy. As mentioned to the customer, this is probably the strongest 470 out there!
With the hull work complete, the new floor was fitted and cosmetics done.
