The owner of this run-down old style plywood Kayak asked if it could be saved! It had been lying out in the weather for many years and surprisingly it was still holding together. Some areas of the deck were starting to delaminate so we started with repairs to that. To keep the hull intact we sheathed the hull with glass and epoxy after preparing it. Once the hull was glassed the gunnel edge was rounded and taped with a heavier glass tape to reinforce the edge. One of the timber handles on the end of the hull was damaged so this was replaced. The owner is now going to take it home to carry out the painting.
