This late model Haines suffered some gelcoat damage on the keel line. Part of this damage ripped into the ‘Keel Guard’ strip that was fitted along the keel so needed to be replaced. Not being familiar with the ‘Keel Guard’ brand we found this product to be excellent. It comes in a well organized little kit with all required for installation. Once the gelcoat repairs were done, the new ‘Keel Guard’ strip was fitted. Part of the process is priming the surface before the strip is applied. We decided to get the longer strip for added protection in the repaired area. Part of the job included adding some new keel rollers to the trailer with padding to lead-in area and adjusting all supporting rollers.
