A collision at night with another boat adrift caused quite a bit of damage to this Lazercraft. An interesting boat built in NZ with an alloy hull and moulded fiberglass deck and superstructure. The hull was repaired by an alloy fabricator and the hull resprayed. The impact cracked the bowsprit, broke away the anchor windlass and pulled the bollard through the deck. The alloy backing plate was deformed and broken away from the deck. There was also stress cracking down each side of the cabin and bad cracks around the edge of the anchor well. A new plywood backing pad was epoxied and glassed with all cracks glassed and filled with epoxy. The windlass and other fittings were re-fitted once all the cosmetic work was complete.
