This 7.6m Party Cat is based on the Myall Lakes and was in need of antifouling after being covered in growth. We suggested a product called Coppercoat which is a new generation epoxy antifoul coating. The process involves all 4 to 5 coats applied in the same day. The water based epoxy product is specially designed for this purpose and is claimed to last at least 10 years without recoating. There are some cases of the product lasting up to 20 years. Once applied the surface requires abrading to reveal the copper flakes which provide the protection.
The Party Cat was lifted onto stands and the underwater surface prepared. Part of the job list was to remove the holding tank system and associated plumbing, this also involved glassing up a couple of through-hull skin fitting holes. Another job was to replace a very undersized manual trailer winch with an appropriate electric winch. The coppercoat is not recommended to be applied to the alloy outboard legs so these were coated with special primers and antifouled with conventional antifoul. We also replaced the 3 main batteries and docking lights.
The entire boat was fully detailed before delivery.
