This was a major onsite job that involved the re-building of this beautiful Atkin motor cruiser. Unfortunately almost all of the orginal cabin needed replacing due to dry-rot. The boat was built by the owners grandfather so was very important to the family and it was nice to see the family continue the legacy. The hull is built from White Beech and was re-fastened a short time before this job.
Parts of the hull and deck were re-built suffering the effects of dry-rot. The small aft cockpit never had any self draining capabilties and this was re-designed with a self-draining floor pan which was built in way that it could be removed if any major work was required to the hull below.
Once the structural re-build was complete the boat was slipped for painting from keel up. The boat was relaunched looking possibly better than it did when new!
