The owner of this inflatable tender brought this in for repairs on the rigid fiberglass hull bottom. These are built in two sections, a top and a bottom, glued along a flange. The flange joint had delaminated allowing water into ther hull. At first the idea was to simply prise the joint open and re-bond a section however when we started following the delamination the entire front part seperated. To pull the top part of the hull off meant stripping all fittings off the transom and finally it came free.
With full access to the hull internally we discovered that the transom reinforcement was rotten and required replacement. Some areas of the hull also needed fiberglass repairs. All work was done using epoxy as well as re-bonding the hull back together.
