The owner bought this boat and wanted to give it the full treatment! He wanted to upgrade almost every part of the boat, starting with replacing the floor with composite in order to have EVA foam decking throughout. He also requested composite seat boxes with storage inside and new seats mounted to these. This boat had a fiberglass moulded half cabin bolted to the alloy deck which had an anchor locker bin built into it. Another upgrade was the request for an anchor winch which needed to go on the deck level so this bin was cut out and filled in with the anchor winch mounted to this new section. We also modified the helm console area to fit a 12 inch screen for the navigation. This involved filling in all the old gauge holes and re designing the console. The entire boat was stripped including the Targa arch and the boat was taken to the metal worker to add the Minn Kota mount on the bow. While it was there we had the bowsprit modified to house a new anchor roller fitting which will fit the new anchor. We also had the deck reinforced below the Targa arch mounts as this was not adequate. The owner asked for a fresh water tank fitted and also a seawater deck wash, this pump can be switched to fresh or salt water. We put in new plumbing throughout including the fuel hoses and a new through-hull seacock for the bait tank and deck wash. We replaced the bait tank and also re plumbed that. To accommodate the chain below the winch we needed to rework this area with a new division for the chain to sit. Originally the owner was going to work with the exterior the way it was however we found that the paint was coming off and there were also quite a few areas of corrosion that needed attention so he requested to repaint the exterior. He also asked to redo the original decals but once he saw how good the boat looked all repainted he asked to paint the sides in a feature grey and went away from having the decals. To tie in with the feature grey sides we also stripped the windscreen down and painted the frame grey to match. With all the painting done, we started templating up for the EVA decking. The brief was to do as much as possible with the U-deck, even the vertical faces of the deck coamings so that when you were fishing there was something soft to lean up against. We also had custom designs done for the boat name and rego numbers which really set the boat off! Now that all our work is done, the boat is off to get the new motor fitted and all the electrics connected. We will keep everyone informed once the boat is back with us to commission everything!
