This Whittley is a home project that came to a stand still. We have installed two new main hull stringers and and a new wet-deck in the cockpit. The stringer had to be fitted in sections and laminated together to work around the bulkhead and internal furniture. These were bonded and glassed to the hull with epoxy. The new wet-deck sections were coated with epoxy before being fitted. The owner still had the heavy laminated glass skins that were on the old decks which were prepared and glued down with epoxy. This creates a very strong and durable coating for the deck and reduces the work to re-glass the decks fully. All that’s required is to glass around the edges to finish this off. As per usual any drains or fittings are treated with epoxy for sealing.
The owner can now continue his project with mainly just the cosmetics to do.
