The gunnel is the first part of the boat to usually make contact when docking etc. This Yalta Craft collided with a tree in the driveway and caused serious damage to the gunnel area and one of the clinker chines below. We removed the rubber gunnel strip and rebuilt the gunnel flange and surrounding areas which extended up to the side deck. We also reglassed the chine on the inside to minimize the work on the blue stripe which was touched up rather than repainting the entire stripe. We stripped the bulkhead paneling out inside which gave us just enough access to reglass the hull internally. With everything put back together and the entire panel above the gunnel refaired, it was hard to pick this damage ever existed.
