We have now finished this project which as often happens develops into a much larger job than planned. Because this was not a typical trailer boat like our usual jobs, a Franna crane was needed to lift it into the our workshop and then take it out once completed. The owners asked us to cut off the small bilge keels on the bottom of this vessel as they weren’t required anymore and were making more work for us. This area on the hull needed filling and re fairing to blend back into the original hull shape. To access the hull bottom fully we turned the hull onto its side so that the one side and bottom was exposed. We ground the surface back to glass, filled, faired, primed and then painted it black. We then lifted the hull back onto the work stands and painted the opposite hull side in black. We then started on the hull topsides, priming all areas and then painted in a matching light grey. This applied to all the hatches and smaller cabin components which were set up and painted on the workshop floor. We then re painted the nonslip areas, refitted the back plate and frame to the back of the hull underside. With everything finished, the Franna crane lifted the hull out of our workshop and loaded it on the truck.
